While walking round the hill of Philipapou you will see a series caves with a history sign “The prison of Socrates”. This was the place where the famous Philosopher was imprisoned with the accusation that his speech was too badly influencing the young Athenians.
This place was also believed too be used to hide the gold and valuables of the Athenians when the Persians destroyed Athens.
Thousands of years later the Athenians did the same thing and hide Greek Treasures when the Nazis invaded Athens.
