A short 15 minute ferry ride from the port of Cannes will take to the beautiful island of l’île Sainte-Marguerite.

The general speculation is that King Luis imprisoned his brother (probably) in order to keep the throne for himself! The famous movie “Man in the Iron Mask” is about this story.
Today you can walk around the fort, enter the cells and check historical findings like pottery and amphora from an ancient shipwreck that happened on the east side of the island.
