Busseboom memorial
Between 1917-1920 a total of 95000 Chinese labourers served under the British constructing roads and railroads, loading ammunition, repairing and working for the army. After the war they cleaned and cleared the battlefields. More than 2000 Chinese workers died and this memorial is a tribute for their sacrifice.

Croonaert Wood was one of the area used by Germans to defend the area around Ypres. A defensive complex of trenches, dugouts and bunkers built by German soldiers from Bavaria. You can walk through the trenches and see German fortifications. You can buy your ticket online. There are instructions

There are 4 bunker shelters were constructed in 1917 and were used as British HQ. Lettenberg was an significant location as it was the only high ground in the area and was ferociously bombed and important battles took place. Today is free to enter and walk around. You can go to the top of the hill

Heavy battles took place in that hill and you can see signs everywhere. Craters, destroyed bankers and pieces of metal and concrete prove that. You can walk around the memorial site and you will easily realize that this was a place where a lot of people horribly lost their lives
